Help Me Out?

A while ago I started a new blog. It was an experiment. I've been struggling with blogging for a while now, and truthfully I'm still trying to decide which way I want to go with this. My other blog is geared toward writing and books. There won't be much personal stuff on it. Obviously I don't want to have two blogs. I'm also wanting to ramp up my website again. So I have a lot of decisions to make. Do I keep this blog as is or scrap it and combine the two, maybe do three posts a week on the new blog and make one of them a more personal post...but is that what I want? Is that what you want? And we're coming into the holidays...I'm a little stressed.
Here's what I'd love for you to do.
FOR NOW, I'll be posting over on my other blog - This Is A Blog About Books. Please go check it out. And then let me know your thoughts.
Do you think I can do a combination of this blog and the other one - or should I keep the book blog strictly books or what?? I can't even think straight at this point!
I would really love to hear your thoughts!
Thanks so much and see you soon.

I got to say, I love hearing about what's going on in your personal life. You do such a great job of mixing the two. I think I would miss out on that portion of your blog. You're very creative and I think you'll do well with what you decide. What's nice? The holidays are here and you can take some time to work it out and enjoy your family too! Have a great one, Miss Cathy!

Thanks Bonnie! Great to see you here! I'm thinking some kind of a compromise would work well, but I am not sure. I'm also loving WordPress which I am using on the other blog, so either way I want to switch this to WP at some point anyway. We shall see what happens!

(It looks like you have a couple spam comments here, Catherine.) It's hard to keep track of multiple blogs, so I can sympathize with your dilemma. A lot of published authors have professionally designed websites, but not everyone wants to go that route.

If I were newly published and had to make that choice I would probably choose to set up a Wordpress blog with a static home page, so that it looks like a formal website, then add a revolving page that is the blog. If the site is directed at your readers you have a degree of professionalism to maintain, so I would make the blog page have a mixture of posts that include only the kind of personal details you want your readers to share. Another page can have info on your books, while another can be a contact page. Barbara Delinski has a nice site that combines her professional and personal aspects.

So there ... now you have my two cents' worth. :)
