Temporarily MIA

I'm away for the summer and I only have access to dial-up. I'm doing a lot of writing, but not so much blogging. I'm trying to decide what writing-related activities are worth keeping, and how much time I should spend blogging. I've tried it for a long time, spend a lot of time visiting other blogs, leaving comments, all the stuff you're supposed to be doing, but I still don't feel I can keep up with posting enough things of interest to make it worth my time and to garner a readership. So for now, while I can't really spend too much time online anyway, this blog shall be silent.
If you happen to pop by, let me know why you blog and what makes you stick with it.

I'm struggling with the same thing. Not a whole bunch of amazing ideas to write about lately. So I've extended last week's break into this week's break. Need to reassess. How are things going in the land of dial-up?

I blog because ...

• I like the immediate feedback on writing, especially when I've put so much thought into it. I have no way of knowing that my fiction will ever be read. Even if a blog post garners only a comment or two, I know my words reached someone.

• I like connecting with people. I also use Twitter, but it feels like the public square. Blogs have more of a "come over to my place" feel.

• Every time I've told myself I should quit blogging, the Lord has given me a kick in the hindquarters to keep me going, so I don't entertain that idea anymore.

Enjoy your time offline, Cathy! It's sure to be good for you.

I could have written this post! LOL, maybe there are many of us going through the same thing. Time is so valuable--and a non-renewable resource--that I have to be careful how I spend it. Have fun on your time off :D

I've only been at blogging for about a year and I never tire of writing about insights I have on God's word.
I love meeting newe Chrisitans and yes...the unsaved also. Many sites have pictures of the creation of God's handi work and I love to see places that I would have never seen otherwise. That's why I blog and why I'm your newest follower. I invite you to visit my blog and follow it as well. God bless you richly and often.
