TA DA!

There has been a lot of talk on my writers groups lately about covers - do they make or break a book. Do you pick up a book and read the back of it if you like what you see on the front?
So, this is the cover for Yesterday's Tomorrow! I would love your honest opinion.
Some of you know the story, some of you don't.
What do you think when you see this? Would you pick it up and want to know more?
And no, I'm not giving my opinion right now. I want to hear YOURS.
Thanks for the input!

Congratulations, Cathy! You must be so happy. I'm certainly happy for you.

The cover does a nice job evoking a feeling of the era without being too dark or depressing. I like how the portion of the face is obstructed, just like your heroine's would be as she captures the images of the war on film. And I really like how large your name is. =)

I'm guessing you're grinning from ear to ear and having a hard time not gushing about your wonderful cover. =D

Oooh, it looks good! Moody, mysterious. . .

It makes me think "Viet Nam war." I don't know whether to expect action (helicopter) or the effect on a nation (ruined trees) or a person (eye). It's enough to make me open the book, and that's the idea, isn't it?
Congratulations.

I like it! I like the tones and the eye looking up at the helicopter. Love the title! How's it feel to have your name right on the front for the whole world to see? You must be on cloud nine!

Cathy, I already said it on FB, but I'll say it again... I love it! I think they did a fabulous job! And yes, I would pick this one up to see what it was about.

Did you take this picture yourself? Or did OakTara send this to you?

Whoa! I think it's amazing! Seriously. I love how they've written the title and the eye looking up is SUPER cool! Oh my goodness....when do you get to hold one in your hand?? Aren't you so excited?

It's what I imagined it to be!! The helicopter makes it!

Thanks, everyone! As you can imagine, I am still grinning ear to ear. Just seeing a stack of books with my name on them is...far more than I could have imagined feeling. I'm not sure what I'll do when I actually hold one in my hand!!
Oak Tara did the cover - their talented designer is Yvonne Parks - Pear Creative - she's amazing. She is also doing a trailer for me, so I know that's going to be WAAAY COOL too!! I would encourage all authors to check her out.

War story? While that's not my style of reading, the the cover is really well done. Very professional. Hope the trailer matches. As I recently discovered with my own, a professional trailer makes all the difference in the world.
Congratulations and I'm sure you're excited.

Woohoo, Congrats! I think it's a beautiful cover!
I know nothing about your story, but if I saw this in a store I would think war and maybe action? Also, maybe a sadder type of book.
Very nice. :-)

It's wonderful, Catherine! The helicopter suggests war and the other elements add to the intrigue. I'm a mystery fan so I'd definitely want to pick it up and check out the blurb. I especially like the colours used.

You must be so excited. I'm sure you're counting down to March. :)

Very intriguing! Helicopter flying through the clouds denotes a search & rescue operation or a war story. Certainly adventure. The fact that the lake below looks a bit like an eye made me think of the eye of God looking through the clouds.

Am I anywhere close? Hope it sells a bundle!

I would definitely be drawn to that cover that says mystery, emotion, action, intrigue! I'm so excited for you, cathy!
